The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy, a variant of Qualcomm's previous-generation flagship chip tuned for Samsung devices, handles multitasking, split-screen apps, and Samsung DeX desktop mode smoothly, though it's a step behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite used in the newer S25 Ultra. For a device whose core appeal is screen real estate and productivity rather than raw gaming performance, this is a sensible trade-off.

Camera

The triple rear camera system — 50MP main, 12MP ultra-wide, and 10MP 3x telephoto — is functionally unchanged from the Z Fold5 and sits a tier below Samsung's non-folding flagships, reflecting where Samsung's camera R&D priority currently sits. The under-display selfie camera on the inner screen is a clever engineering trade-off, sacrificing some image quality to keep the fold uninterrupted by a notch or punch hole.

Battery and charging

A 4400mAh battery, split across two cells to fit the folding hinge, is adequate but not generous for a device this large and expensive, and Samsung's continued use of 25W wired charging — well behind its own S25 Ultra's 45W, let alone Chinese rivals' 100W-plus speeds — remains one of the more frequently criticized aspects of the Fold line.
